Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited’s subsidiary, natnudO Foods, has commissioned a new processing plant in Benin City, Edo State. This initiative is designed to empower local farmers and entrepreneurs, particularly women, to participate actively in the poultry industry and contribute to Nigeria’s food security.
In collaboration with Heifer International Nigeria, natnudO Foods has launched the natnuPreneur Scheme. This innovative program provides farmers and entrepreneurs with the essential knowledge, resources, and support to excel in poultry farming and animal protein sales.
The scheme empowers farmers to raise high-quality broiler and Noiler chickens under a sustainable out-grower system. natnudO Foods will then purchase these birds and process them at its state-of-the-art facilities.
Additionally, the scheme enables individuals and businesses to establish thriving animal protein businesses. Through a Hub and Spoke system, entrepreneurs will have access to solar-powered freezers for efficient storage and distribution. They will also be equipped with push carts and parasols to facilitate daily sales.
Ayoola Oduntan, Group Managing Director of Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery Ltd., emphasized the company’s dedication to providing Nigerians with high-quality, affordable animal protein. By investing in modern infrastructure and innovative programs, natnudO aims to support sustainable agricultural practices and drive economic development in rural communities.
With the addition of the Benin City plant to its existing facilities in Ibadan, Uyo, and Kaduna, natnudO is poised to strengthen its position as a leading player in Nigeria’s poultry industry. This expansion not only enhances the company’s capacity to meet the growing demand for animal protein but also reinforces its commitment to empowering Nigerian farmers and entrepreneurs.
