Start Innovation Hub, a Uyo-based technology incubation firm, has been officially approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) as one of 16 privately owned training centres in Akwa Ibom State.
The approval follows a verification visit to the company’s headquarters by NBTE officials, who assessed its facilities and capacity to deliver skill-based training.
According to a letter signed by NBTE’s Director of Vocational, Technical and Skills Development, Engr. S. M. Yusuf, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Prof. Idris Muhammad Bugaje, Start Innovation Hub is now authorised to operate as a certified training centre in two programmes: Computer Hardware Repair & Maintenance and Social Media Communications.
Under the arrangement, trainees will be assessed by a sectoral awarding body, while certificates will be issued by the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), recognised by the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria.
The NBTE commended the tech firm for meeting the standards required to contribute to Nigeria’s growing need for skilled tech professionals.
