The Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, ‘Bosun Tijani, reaffirmed the government’s dedication to equipping Nigerian youth with vital digital skills during his visit to Teesas Education Learning Centre Lekki. This centre is one of the Applied Learning Clusters (ALC) of the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, a flagship initiative of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.
The 3MTT programme aims to cultivate a pipeline of technical talent, empowering Nigerian youth to thrive in the digital economy. Teesas Education Learning Centres, in partnership with the ministry, provide training in various fields, including Product Management, UI/UX Design, Software Development, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), Cloud Computing, Game Development, Data Analysis and Visualization, Animation, and Quality Assurance.
Tijani engaged with participants, listening to their experiences and the programme’s impact on their career prospects. He emphasized, “By investing in our people and their digital skills, we are setting the foundation for a sustainable, tech-driven future.” This sentiment was echoed by Osayi Izedonmwen, Chairman and Founder of Teesas Education, who expressed his organization’s commitment to supporting the ministry’s 3MTT agenda.
Teesas Education is training approximately 1,000 participants at its Lekki and Ikeja center as part of the programme’s second cohort. This collaboration is crucial in achieving the government’s objective of positioning Nigeria as a net talent exporter.
The 3MTT programme is a critical component of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision to create 2 million digital jobs by 2025. With initiatives like this, Nigeria is poised to become a leader in the digital economy, driven by its technically skilled youth.
