Consultancy Opportunity: Case Study Development on PIND’s Peacebuilding Achievements in Cross River and Delta States

Post Date : November 7, 2024

The Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) is seeking two skilled consultants—researchers or creative writers—to develop case studies showcasing PIND’s peacebuilding and conflict mitigation efforts in Cross River and Delta States. These case studies will highlight the impact of PIND’s grassroots peacebuilding networks, including the Partners for Peace (P4P), Prevent Council (PC), and Warri Multi-Stakeholders Platform (MSP). Through collective action, volunteerism, and team spirit, these networks have successfully worked to prevent and mitigate conflict in their communities.

Objective of the Case Studies

These case studies will combine descriptive and explanatory elements, illustrating how PIND’s network-based approach helps build social capital to reinforce local peace initiatives and respond effectively to specific conflict drivers. The studies will feature success stories of community-led interventions, presenting them through the testimonials of beneficiaries. Each story will trace the journey from the initial conflict scenario, through the intervention activities, to the positive outcomes achieved at personal, household, organizational, and community levels.

Scope of Work

The assignment entails:

  1. Planning: Conduct initial meetings with PIND’s relevant teams and individuals.
  2. Subject Identification: Identify and select beneficiaries/testifiers whose experiences will be highlighted.
  3. Desk Review: Review relevant documents and background information.
  4. Template and Schedule Development: Develop templates and schedule timelines.
  5. Information Gathering: Conduct interviews and review documentation to gather content.
  6. Writing and Editing: Draft, refine, and finalize the case studies and success stories.

Consultant Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Proven expertise in research and creative writing, with a focus on case study development in conflict transformation.
  • Familiarity with the social and cultural dynamics of Cross River and Delta States.
  • Experience working in sensitive environments, engaging with community stakeholders, government agencies, and traditional institutions.
  • Availability to collaborate with PIND’s technical team, including experts in peacebuilding, planning, monitoring, and evaluation.

Assignment Duration

The consultancy will run for 12 days, from November 2024 to January 2025.
