Alliances for Africa (AfA) is turning the spotlight on 100 remarkable women from Nigeria’s Southeast who are breaking barriers and leading transformative change in their communities. The organization, driven by its mission to promote equality and justice, is calling for nominations of outstanding women making meaningful strides in various fields, including sports, technology, agriculture, leadership, traditional practices, and entrepreneurship.
The search spans across five states—Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo—focusing on women between the ages of 18 and 70. These women, regardless of their social or economic status, must have demonstrated impactful contributions that push the boundaries of societal norms and champion justice and equity.
Nominations close on September 20, 2024, and can be submitted through AfA’s official platform. This initiative is part of AfA’s effort to raise awareness for the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, set to kick off from November 25 to December 10, 2024.
The campaign will feature these trailblazing women whose stories not only inspire change but also challenge the deep-rooted issues of gender-based violence in Nigeria. By celebrating their achievements, AfA seeks to amplify their voices and create a ripple effect across the nation, urging more women to step into leadership roles.
