The Association of Nigerian Women Business Network (ANWBN) has unveiled a new initiative to empower widows, women entrepreneurs, and vulnerable women in Lagos. The program, named Women Economic Empowerment for Widows, Women Entrepreneurs, and Vulnerable Women (WEE 4 3WS), aims to equip women with the tools and resources needed for business success.

At the launch event held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hall, ANWBN National Coordinator Otunba Gbemisola Oduntan emphasized the program’s vision. “Today, we ignite a shared goal—empowering women to excel as leaders, innovators, and collaborators in creating a more inclusive future,” she said.

The program offers financial independence strategies, access to business resources, and market opportunities. Banks are also collaborating to provide financial support for women with viable business ideas.

Funke Bolujoko, founder of Master Tea, inspired participants via video call, urging them to embrace challenges as opportunities to grow. “Build meaningful alliances, avoid shortcuts, and seize every chance for progress,” she advised. She shared the story of Chief Rasak Akanni Okoya, founder of Eleganza Group, whose honesty and resilience have sustained his business for over seven decades.

Other speakers included legal expert Toki Mabogunje, who encouraged women to prioritize excellence, financial literacy, and continuous learning. She also shared tips for balancing family life with business responsibilities and advised women to leverage exhibitions to showcase their products.
