Aminu Sani Jaji, a Federal House of Representatives member representing Birnin Magaji/Kaura Namoda Constituency, has vowed to collaborate with the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) to advance girls’ education and maternal healthcare in Zamfara State. Jaji, who chairs the House Committee on Ecological Fund, made the pledge during a courtesy visit by a NAWOJ delegation at his residence.

Commending women journalists as society’s watchdogs and advocates for transparency, Jaji emphasized their vital role in enlightening the public, particularly on issues affecting women and children. “Journalists are pillars of the common man and agents of societal progress. I will partner with NAWOJ to reach vulnerable families, especially women, at the grassroots,” he said, reaffirming his commitment to empowerment programs in education, healthcare, and women’s development.

Jaji urged NAWOJ members to intensify efforts in addressing challenges facing women in Zamfara and beyond. He highlighted the need for sensitization campaigns on education and employment opportunities for women, recognizing NAWOJ’s capacity to drive meaningful change. He also praised the association’s contributions to good governance and democracy.

In response, NAWOJ’s National Secretary, Comrade Wasila Ladan, lauded Jaji for his people-focused initiatives, particularly in empowering women and supporting girls’ education. She encouraged the lawmaker to further collaborate with NAWOJ in promoting maternal health, fighting gender-based violence, and advancing programs that uplift women in the state.

The visit also celebrated Jaji’s recent achievement of earning a doctorate in Public Health from Maryam Abacha American University. The Zamfara NAWOJ Chairperson, Jamila Musa Kanoma, acknowledged his developmental efforts across the state and expressed confidence that his partnership with NAWOJ would drive significant progress in girls’ education and women’s welfare.
