The African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) is looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to join their team in facilitating cross-regional movement-building and leading key initiatives aimed at strengthening African feminist organising. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in coordinating multi-stakeholder events at both regional and international levels, as well as a deep understanding of African feminist structures and tools such as the African Feminist Forums (AFFs) and the Charter of Feminist Principles for African Feminists.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about advancing African feminist movements and who is eager to work on significant milestones, including the upcoming 20th anniversary of the Charter of Feminist Principles and the AFFs. The successful candidate will play a critical role in mobilising resources, people, and spaces to commemorate these key moments while fostering solidarity, partnerships, and community across diverse feminist groups, funders, and movement entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate cross-regional movement-building and coordinate multi-stakeholder events at the regional and international levels.
- Provide strategic leadership to diverse co-leadership groups, funders, and grantee partners.
- Drive initiatives to celebrate and reflect on key moments like the 20th anniversary of the Charter and the AFFs.
Ideal candidates should be comfortable navigating multiple stakeholder interests and have experience working with autonomous co-leadership groups and diverse movement entities. The role requires someone with the ability to foster collaboration, build partnerships, and provide thought leadership within the feminist movement.
